Let us meet those who reach the finish line
One of the cities that has 100% renewable electricity is e.g. the city of Burlington in the state of Vermont in the United States. The energy mix that the city uses is:
Biomass: Sustainable local wood is used to power the McNeil Generating Station.
Hydropower: Hydroelectric plant on the Winooski River on the outskirts of town.
Wind: Four large wind turbines on nearby Georgia Mountain.
Solar Energy: Solar panels on the roof of the airport, high school and Burlington Electric Department.
Around the world for 8000 days will map cities and companies and present the solutions used. The purpose is to spread knowledge of what works around the world.
2030 is the first milestone
As a society, the world is very busy to switch to 100% renewable electricity. Of course, this does not have to last 8000 days. Everything that uses electricity must be converted as soon as possible, if that is the goal that members of the UN have set themselves. 100% clean electricity from 2050.
Fortunately, there are many cities and companies that have set these goals for the year 2030. These must be reflected in the project CLEAN POWER AROUND THE WORLD.
